The benefits of joining DSN
Developmental Services Network (DSN) has served its members since 2001 as California’s only trade association dedicated exclusively to providers of Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) services for people with intellectual disabilities. Working with statewide recognized consultants, DSN is responsive to the needs of its members.

Shared Information
DSN provides its members with readily available information to assist them with owning and operating one or more Intermediate Care Facilities. We provide a forum for members where questions and constructive conversations are encouraged to assist the community at large. We keep members informed with legislative updates and pertinent information or laws that emerge from the State’s Capitol.

State Government Representation
DSN Consultants, Diane Van Maren and Kathy Mossburg, continue to work tirelessly on regulatory and legislative issues to make certain our membership has the best representation in California. Accomplishments have included:

  • Ensuring that our Supplemental Payment, funded with Proposition 56 dollars, was continued through 2019.
  • Worked with several DSN member facilities to obtain approximately $100,000 in reimbursements for past claims owed by several Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans.
  • Clarified the treatment authorization (TAR) process with the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to assist in understanding our facilities and whom we serve.
  • Collaborated with DSN to considerably increase the amount DHCS recognized in our rate for the minimum wage add-on.

Educational Programs and Training
DSN is proud to offer providers of ICF/DD-H, ICF/DD-N a comprehensive and practical approach to training new QIDPs and current QIDPs. Throughout the year, we create programs that contain non-stop introductions and exploration of revised regulations, as well as other state laws for the diverse responsibilities of the QIDP. (Programs will resume when it is safe to do so.)

Annual Meeting
The Annual Meeting provides attendees with numerous tracks and experienced speakers so attendees of all experience levels gain from the information provided. The conference provides sessions and networking for everyone!

Membership dues are based on a “per bed” amount. This amount is set by the Board of Directors each calendar year. Dues may be pro-rated for partial year memberships.
